Land Supply for Housing in 2011 to be 218 Thousand Hectares
The Ministry of Land and Resources of the People’s Republic of China released the 2011 National Land Supply Plan for Housing on May 13. According to the Plan, the land supply for housing of the whole country will reach 218 thousand hectares in 2011, increased 18% and 72.6% respectively compared with the 2010’s plan (184.7 thousand ha.) and the actual amount of land supply for housing in 2010 (126.3 thousand ha.), which also exceeds the average land supply of the previous two years (101.7 thousand ha.).
In 2011, China’s planned land supply for the government-subsidized housing and small and medium commercial housing is 171.3 thousand ha., covering 78.6% of the total planned housing land supply, increased 2% than last year. The planned land supply for the government-subsidized housing reached 77.4 thousand ha., covering 35.5% of the total planned housing land supply, and increased 17.6% and 138.9% respectively compared with the 2010’s plan (65.8 thousand ha.) and the actual amount of land supply in 2010 (32.4 thousand ha.).
