Fifth National Congress of UPSC Held, New Council Elected
On May 29, the Fifth National Congress of Urban Planning Society of China (UPSC) was held in Beijing. Huang Yan, Vice Minister of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Liu Xingping, Deputy Director General of the Department of Academic and Societies Affairs, China Association for Science and Technology, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
The congress was hosted by Wang Jingxia, Vice President of the Fourth Council of UPSC. On the congress, reports on the works of the Fourth Council, the financial condition of the Fourth Council, the revision of the UPSC charter, and the revision of the UPSC membership management method, were all reviewed and voted for approval. The congress also elected the Fifth Standing Council, and the President, the Vice President, the Secretary General, and the Deputy Secretary General of the Fifth Council. In addition, the congress also reviewed and approved the list of the UPSC Lifetime Achievement Award, the candidates for legal representative of UPSC, and the list of the organization work committee member.
It should be noted that Zou Deci, Chief Editor of China City Planning Review (CCPR), will continue to be the Advisory Council Member of the Fifth Council, and Shi Nan and Mao Qizhi, Deputy Chief Editors of CCPR, will take the positions of the Vice President and the Executive Council Member of the Fifth Council of UPSC respectively (see the attachment for the full list of President and Vice Presidents of the Fifth Council of UPSC).
