GLOSSARY
Shaji Model (沙集模式 shā jí mó shì): Shaji is the name of a small town in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, where the Shaji Model was born in 2006. Being a rural entrepreneurial model aiming to promote the economic growth of rural areas and increase the job opportunities for farmers, it is characterized by the combination of farmers, Internet, and enterprises, and refers to a matured business chain ranging from product design, online marketing, offline processing, to logistics distribution. By encouraging farmers to actively adopt the public e-commerce platform, it helps promote the development of manufacturing and other relative industries, resulting in an enterprise-centered rural development mode in China in the information era.
